Agenda June 7th to June 13th

June 7th.- Farewell to the Sea. A group exhibit, featuring artists who came via El Mariel boatlift from Cuba 30 years ago. Exhibition will take place at Zu Galeria Fine Arts. 6-9pm. 2248 Southwest 8th Street. Ph: 786-443-5872

June 7th.- Yoga in the Park. FREE yoga classes at the Tina Hills Pavilion. Participants must be at least 18 years old to sign a waiver and bring their own mat, water, and towel. 6pm. 301 North Biscayne Blvd. Ph: 305-358-7550

June 9th.- The Miami Short Film Festival pres. EXPOSED. Enjoy the screening of the best shorts of last year’s Miami Short Film Festival with music and drinks. Surprise DJ will be spinning and the event fee is only $5.00. There will be free valet parking and a complimentary cocktail will welcome you. 8pm. Cafeina Wynwood Lounge, 297 NW 23 St.

June 9th.- Florida Blue Center Wellness Events. “Summer Safety” – Learn how to prevent heat and sun related injuries, avoid pesky bug bites and stings, and reduce the risk of injuries from sports and water activities. Free event. 8pm. 8895 Southwest 136th Street.

June 9th.- Chess for Kids. The Miami-Dade Public Library in Coconut Grove offers chess classes for children between 6 and 12 years old. 11am- 12:30pm. 2875 McFarlane Road, Coconut Grove.

June 10th.- Aterciopelados in concert. The Colombian duo will be rocking the Grand Central this Thursday with special guest Mr.Pauer. 8pm. 697 North Miami Ave, Downtown Miami. Ph: 305-471-4965. Check them out here 

June 10th.- Flying Trapeze School. Take a swing on the flying trapeze with professional instructors. Classes for all levels are offered, as well as birthday parties, group outings, etc. Classes are $40. 7pm. Bayfront Park, 301 North Biscayne Blvd.

June 11th.- FIFA World Cup 2010′s first game. The most important tournament for soccer fans starts with South Africa vs. Mexico and Uruguay vs. France. Watch the games at your favorite bar in the city or at your friend’s house.

June 11th.- Laughing Gas Comedy Improv Show. South Florida’s longest running professional improvisation troupe presents a 90-minute, interactive show with improvised sketches, music and games based on audience suggestions, performed by some of the area’s most talented actors. Starts at 11 pm. Costs $12. Main Street Playhouse, 6766 Main Street, Miami Lakes.

June 12th.- Sesame Street Live at the American Airlines Arena. Elmo and friends help find a new home for Elmo’s sunflower, Sunny. Shows are at 10:30 am, 2pm and 5:30 pm. 601 Biscayne Boulevard Miami. Ph: 786-777-1239

June 12th.- Ballet Classes. Ballet classes, taught by Miami City Ballerinas, are held for 2-4 year olds each week for a cost of $15, at 10:00 am. Tula and Tupi Children’s Boutique, 3133 Commodore Plaza, Coconut Grove.
