How sweet it is to be by the pool!

Do we really have to say it? Well, it is HOT out there. But that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy Miami. This is the perfect season to visit a water park, so here’re a few options to choose from, depending on location or your interest… or maybe you want to visit them all!!!

Venetian Pool

If you are in the mood for some old time Hollywood glam, then you can visit Venetian Pool in Coral Gables. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this has been a popular swimming spot since the 1920s. It is the largest freshwater pool in the U.S. You can lounge in the beautiful setting, or take a dip in the pool – which ranges from 2-feet to 8-feet deep. There is also a cafe that is used often for weddings and events. Sorry, no kids under 3.

The SplashPad at Founders Park.

If you are up north and your children want to have some fun, the Founders Park is definitely an option. Get wet and have a blast in its 5,000 square foot interactive water feature. It is free for Aventura Residents. $10 for non-resident.There is a 137 person maximum bathing load.

Splash Pad

Flamingo Aquatic Center

Voted the Best Public Swimming Pool, the Flamingo Park Aquatic Center is perfect for cooling off on a hot summer day. This state-of-the-art facility includes an 8 lane lap pool that maintains an 82 degree temperature year-round by aerating in the summer and heating in the winter. The Flamingo Park Pool Miami Beach also features a separate interactive play pool that is zero to 15 inches in depth and intended for toddlers.  This interactive water playground is decorated with multi-colored water toys and a slide. It also offers a broad range of Learn to Swim Programs for children and adults of all ages.

Flamingo Aquatic Center

Normandy Isle Pool

This city’s splash venue includes a full-sized lap pool as well as a tot-lot water playground for children with water toys, changing rooms with showers and a concession area. An illuminated deck enables the pool to be open evenings.

Entrance to the pools is free for Miami Beach residents. The pool facility is open Monday through Sunday from 6:45 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Normandy Isle Pool is located at 7030 Trouville Esplanade, Miami Beach. Phone (305) 993-2021

Grapeland Water Park

One of the newest features of the city gives you the chance to cool off while having fun surrounded by bright designs by famous local artist, Romero Britto. Four different options for you to choose. You can go from Shipwreck Island, where toddlers ages 5 and under can find shallow waters, to Pirate’s Plunge, where the 6 and older crowd take the stairs to the top of the towers and take the fast slides for a spin. But you can also take it down a notch an hang out in the Captain’s Lagoon or go with the flow in the Buccaneer River Ride.

The park also offers Learn to Swim and Water programs and fitness programs and fun activities like Dive In Movies.

Admission prices:
Free for those 3 and under
$5 for ages 4 thru 13
$10 for Miami -Dade County residents 14 and older
$12 for non-Miami-Dade County Residents 14 and older.
Summer Hours of operations: 9.30am – 7.30pm

The Aquatic Center Miami Shores

It has two pool: Shipwreck Cove features an activity pool with slides and 0′ depth entry and an eight lane competition pool. The Aquatic Center offers several aquatic classes, Red Cross Swim Lessons from 6 months to Adults, and The Predators Swim Team.
