itsINmiami.com attended the Dog Bowl 2010 with NFL star, Hines Ward, on Thurday, February 4th at the Bayside Marketplace. I have to say, I have never seen so many adorable dogs do such amazing tricks! It was a great event and Science Diet: Healthy Pet Food for Cats and Dogs, was there to give away to everyone in the audience free samples of their delicious snacks for their dogs. Among the judges was NFL Pittsburgh Steeler, Hines Ward, whom we got a chance to speak to after the show.
Here’s what he had to say:
What did you think about the show?
Well the show was amazing, these dogs have been trained incredibly and I personally enjoyed it a lot. I don’t have a dog myself because i’m always traveling and I don’t have the time to take care of one, but my mom does. I’m always playing with him, she treats him like a son!
So who are you rooting for the Super Bowl this year?
I’m not taking any sides this year, they’re both great teams and Peyton Manning is a great quarterback, so we’ll see who ends up winning.
You have earned three Most Valuable Player (MVP) titles and you were the first Korean-American to get it. How do you feel about that?
It feels great, it’s definitely an honor. That’s something I can always take with me and nobody can take away from me, so I feel very blessed.
Tell us a little bit about the Hines Ward Helping Hands Foundation.
It’s a foundation I created after the first Super Bowl to help multiracial kids in Korea who have been discriminated. It’s just something to give them hope and let them know that they can do great things and don’t have to feel like they don’t belong.
And finally, what’s your IN place in Miami?
I come to Miami a lot, and my favorite place is definitely the beach. I love Miami and the weather and the beach in general is just great.
