ItsINmiami.com Celebrated Earth Day!

Turns out doing something good for our environment is easier than we thought; turning off the lights when you leave the room, taking shorter showers, unplugging electronics when not in use, using cloth grocery bags at the supermarket instead of plastic or paper. Those are some very simple tips that we can make habits and before you know it, you’re doing your part to help. ItsINmiami.com decided to do something to help our beautiful city, Miami.

“Leave No Waste” was our first event and we decided to kick it off as an Earth Day celebration, and once again, we got together with our friends Ombu Lifestyle, www.ombulifestyle.com, and GG art work, www.ggartwork.com. The celebration happened on April 25th at South Pointe Park in South Beach at 3:30 pm, even though we had to start a little later due to overcrowded beach with no parking spaces. The event consisted of a fun clean up day with music by Kayakman frontman, Tato and Jared Bistrong, snacks provided by Lime Mexican Grill, drinks by Vitamin Water and coupons for ChicBerry Frozen Yogurt. Leave No Waste shirts were given to everyone that participated, and we are very happy with how everything turned out.

It was great to see how young people are becoming very interested in helping out, and mothers that brought their kids to teach them at an early age that this is something that needs to be done. The point of the event was to create conscience and invite people to do the same, and that way, little by little with everyone’s help, we will have a greener tomorrow.

If you wanted to come to the event and couldn’t make it, or just didn’t know about it, you can still join the cause. We will be doing this event monthly because we need to celebrate Earth not just one day, but every day. Each month, we will meet at a different part of the city and do the clean up. If you want to join us next time, just stay tuned for the next date and place and we will be happy to have you on board.

We would like to give special thanks to:
