Miami Short Film Festival

If you think Miami is not artistic or cultural enough, well now there’s an event that can change your mind. The Miami Short Film Festival is doing monthly events with different themes to get people prepared for their annual big festival, and this month’s theme was: Exposed!

Yesterday was a nice evening at Cafeina Lounge in Midtown, where guests were greeted with a complimentary cocktail and enjoyed a nice ambiance with good music. Short films from all over the world that lasted 5 to 7 minutes were shown every 10 to 15 minutes. These included: Not a Pick up Artist from the United States, Tuesday in Copacabana from Brazil, ViceVersa from Mexico, NY Talk from the United States, Sonata from Canada, Ctrl Z from the United States, HotDog from the United States also, and Marina from Colombia.

Event organizers, William Vela and Armando Nino, wanted to get Miami locals involved with the festival and the artistic side of Miami that seems to be growing every day a little more. The idea is to get the younger crowd to enjoy these films and get them interested in the arts a little more because we all know Miami is known to be the party capital of the United States, and the truth is there is more to offer. Everyone that appreciates a good film will appreciate this event.

So, let’s recap… Great ambiance, music, amazing short films, nice people, complimentary cocktail and happy hour, free valet parking, and entrance fee only $5, what’s not to love about this? Even if you are not a big film lover, it’s still a great excuse and opportunity to mingle with locals and do something different. Don’t miss next month’s event and support the arts!!
