The result will be exhibited next Thursday March 31st, during Bal Harbour Art Nights. You can enjoy an original collection from artists such as Elena Bond, Luciana Abait, Alicia Erminy, Leonel Matheu, Pat Morales, Sandra Perez-Liberman, Carlos Poveda, Orlando Urdaneta among others, curated by Francine Birbragher-Rozencwaig. The works will be sold in a silent auction for the benefit of Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida.

Check out “Arts en Pointes” at Calypso St. Barth in Bal Harbour Shops, and while you are there, you can also visit photograph exhibitions by Iran Issa-Khan at Saks Fifth Avenue; Peggy Levison Nolan at St. Regis Lounge; Greg Lotus at 100% Capri; Bruce Weber at Books & Books; Bert Stern, Serge Mendjisky and Alaoui Guerra at the Opera Gallery; the The Lotus House’s” By and About Women” at Neiman Marcus and Roberto Cavalli’s photo collection “Black is Never Absolute” at his own location. You can also enjoy music by teachers from Vladimir Issaev’s Music School.

Marco Graziani, Self-portrait.

Marco Graziani is a Venezuelan-American self-taught photographer that began his passion for photography in his early years. Based in Miami Beach, Marco brings out the vintage in every picture mixed with surreal colors that will make you say WOW. You will never see just a regular photo, they are pieces of art and that’s what makes his photography so unique.

So tell us…

When did you first pick up a camera?
My father gave me my first camera, a Pentax k100, when I was 9 years old. I still have it to date, after that I was hooked.

Your style is very vintage, where did that come from?
I believe analog cameras have always had the most exquisite tones. I tend to watch old pictures of my family and those pink-orange tones, sunflares, and overexposed sun leaks are just too darn attractive. Why let such a beautiful era in photography die.

Are you inspired by any other artist?
I consider Tim Walker my great silent mentor. He still shoots with film and his work is extremely surreal. He’s also one of the most craved photographers by fashion magazines.

Why do you like photography so much?
As a kid I remember watching a movie called Blow Up directed by Michelangelo Antonioni, written by Julio Cortazar, and in the very first 10 minutes of the movie there is a photoshoot with David Hemmings and my jaw just dropped. I was so impressed by the power of a camera that I was bound to learn how to tame it.

You’re also a real state agent, how do you combine both?
I don’t!! I actually suck as a realtor but it helps me feed my cat and myself. I always thought if you are a good PR you are a good realtor, turns out I suck at numbers.

I have worked with The Green Agency, Next, Triton, John Casablanca, Top Six and Irene Marie.

After a long hot day you might find me at Le Sandwicherie enjoying a mozzarella, lettuce and black olives sandwich with their delightful mustard dressing. The Abbey Brewing Company is a must if you like beer, it’s very small but everyone always manages to fit in. If you like to dance Salsa Vieja, Hoy Como Ayer in calle ocho is the place to go. Seafood lovers, like myself, go to the river and have some fried snapper with an icy cold beer at Casa Garcia, there is just something about that spot that makes me want to go every day, I feel like a fisherman.
