Welcoming 2010

Welcome everybody to It’s IN Miami, your new guide to enjoy the town that’s growing into an interesting metropolis. As 2009 leaves us, and 2010 salutes us, we want to have fun in the transition, find interesting people and discover what this city has for you and only you.

New Year’s Eve is by far, one of the most exciting days of the year. It gives you the opportunity to take a look at what you have accomplished, say goodbye to those moments you won’t miss and start all over again full of hope. So it is a special day that deserves to be relished.

Welcoming not only a new year, but a new decade, in Miami can be quite an experience. You can do it in a luxury hotel, in a fancy restaurant or in the beach under the moonlight. Miami has not a dress code, so you can wear a tuxedo or a casual outfit. It’s whatever makes you feel comfortable. For those who like to plan ahead, for those who just go with the flow, for families, young adults; Miami has something to offer for everyone.

Here’s a few recommendations:

Lady Gaga is bringing her chart-topping pop beats and unexpected theatrics
You can enjoy her at the James L KNIGHT CENTER at 7 pm

If you have a little bit more to spare, you can join her at the Fontainebleau poolside for a live performance and countdown.

Count down the remaining minutes of 2009 in SoBe without springing hundreds of dollars at the annual beachfront fest. It’s a family-friendly event, culminating with a midnight fireworks celebration over the water. Just keep in mind that parking is limited in Miami Beach, so carpool, go early and prepare to pay for those not so friendly flat rates.
8th St and Ocean Dr, Miami Beach, FL 33139

You can also opt for Bayfront Park freebies, another event featuring a concert performance and fireworks at midnight. Big Orange ball is visible. Gates open at 7:00 pm and show starts at 8:00 pm
301 Noth Biscayne Boulevard Miami, Florida 33132

Restaurants are definitely an option. Most of them have a special menu for the night including champagne and amenities.

If you want the children to enjoy before it is late, visit The Miami Children’s Museum. The Miami Children’s Museum is among the few cultural attractions that will be open for the day of New Year’s Eve in 2010. The museum is a fun place for kids to take part in interactive activities, watch films, join a workshop and learn about the history of Dr. Seuss. Games, arts and crafts, and a countdown to the ball drop. Free with paid admission to the museum. Speaking of champagne, has anybody else noticed what a bargain some of the Spanish Cavas are in comparison to Champagnes and Sparkling Wines?

  2. Hi there people, all human situations have their ups and downs. We feel those of the here and now but never see nor feel those of the future; and so we often make troublesome changes without amendment, and invariably for the worst. HAPPY NEW YEAR
